Ben Whitford won the 130-pound championship at the Ironman Tournament at Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
"It was a good stepping stone to see how I measured up with some of the best high school wrestlers in the country," remarked Whitford about the tournament. "It was a great experience, but my hard work is far from over."
Other Overtime wrestlers who placed included Jared Cortez, who won 3 rd place at 112, and Johnny Jimenez, who won 4 th place at 103. Eddie Greco (125), Angelo Silvestro (140), and Bryce Brill (135) all came up one win short of placing. All of these wrestlers are from Marmion Academy.
The Ironman Tournament draws elite high school teams from all over the country and is widely considered to be the toughest high school folkstyle wrestling tournament in the country.
