Overtime-trained student-athletes performed well at the 25-team Cheesehead Invitational on Dec. 30-31, 2010. Ben Whitford (130, Marmion Academy) led the way, winning the nationally-respected tournament, while a total of 11 Overtime students placed in the top eight at their weight class.
The Cheesehead Invitational is one of the premier high school wrestling tournaments in the United States. Some highly ranked teams at the tournament included, based on the Dec. 17, 2010 W.I.N Magazine national high school rankings: Apple Valley (ranked #1 by W.I.N. Magazine / placed first as a team at the Cheesehead); Blair Academy (ranked #3 / placed second); Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln (ranked #6 / placed fifth); Marmion Academy (ranked #10 / placed seventh); Simley (ranked #11 / placed third).
